The shelter will be closed March 15th-May 7th, tentatively, for upgrades to our HVAC, lighting, ceiling, and the addition of sound barriers throughout the entire shelter.

We are still offering the following services to our community: Adoptions, intakes/surrenders, food assistance, and our Humane Society Agent will be responding to reports/concerns for animal cruelty and neglect.

The shelter is open by appointment only Tuesday-Sunday 12pm-5pm
  • Are you still accepting owner surrender pets and stray cats?
    • Yes, by appointment only, and as space permits. Please give us a call for more details.

  • Are adoptions still same day?
    • We are scheduling adoptions by appointment only, so depending on the day and available appointments, yes, they could still be same day. Otherwise, and depending upon available appointments, adoptions are scheduled within 24-48 hours of adoption counseling. The adoption process starts by viewing available pets on petharbor.com and then emailing interest and asking for a survey and questionnaire to wchsadopt@gmail.com

  • Where can I find the application?
    • After viewing available pets on petharbor.com please email your interest and ask our team for a survey and questionnaire at wchsadopt@gmail.com

    • If you are having troubles downloading/printing, give us a call or stop by. We can let you know if the pet is still available and bring a survey and questionnaire out to you. If we don’t have any available appointments at the time you stop by, we will schedule an appointment at that time.

  • Can I come in to see the pets?
    • At this time, we are scheduling adoption appointments, and access to the shelter by the public is very limited. The adoption process starts by viewing available pets on petharbor.com and then emailing interest and asking for a survey and questionnaire to wchsadopt@gmail.com

  • Is food assistance contactless?
    • Yes! We schedule food assistance pick up by appointment and as long as it isn’t raining, we will leave the food out front for you to pick up at your assigned time.

  • Is your Humane Agent still responding to calls of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment?
    • Yes! Our Humane Agent is responding to all calls that come into our office.

  • Can I still drop off donations?
    • You sure can! We prefer to know that you are stopping by to say hi and/or give you a donation form, so please give us a call to schedule a quick drop off time and to receive further drop off instructions.
